Use Cotonity agents to keep HubSpot contacts, companies, and deals current without manual data entry from your sales team.
Supported record types
Cotonity can update the following HubSpot object types automatically: Contacts, Companies, Deals, and custom object records (available on HubSpot Enterprise). For each object, you can update any writeable property — standard or custom — using values collected during a conversation, extracted from documents, or computed by agent logic. Associations between objects (e.g., associating a contact with a company) can also be created or updated as part of the same action, removing the need for a separate API call.
Configuring update conditions
To avoid overwriting valuable data accidentally, configure update conditions in the action settings. For example, you can restrict updates to contacts where the Last Modified Date is older than 30 days, or only update the Lifecycle Stage field if its current value is lower in the funnel than the new value. Conditions use HubSpot property values fetched in real time at the moment of execution, so they reflect the latest state of the record even if it was modified after the workflow was triggered.
Bulk vs. single-record updates
Most agent-driven updates are single-record operations triggered by a specific user interaction. However, Cotonity also supports batch update workflows that run on a schedule and update hundreds or thousands of records at once — useful for tasks like refreshing engagement scores, updating territory assignments after a territory redesign, or bulk-setting a new custom property value. Batch updates are throttled automatically to respect HubSpot's API rate limits, and progress is reported in real time on the workflow run dashboard.
Audit trail and rollback
Every automated update is logged with the workflow run ID, timestamp, modified fields, old values, and new values. This audit trail is accessible from the Cotonity event log and can also be viewed as a HubSpot timeline activity on the individual contact record (if the timeline scope is granted). In the event of a mis-configuration that causes incorrect bulk updates, Cotonity provides a one-click rollback that restores the previous property values from the audit snapshot, up to 24 hours after the update was applied.
