Explains Cotonity's plan tiers, how runs are counted, what happens when you hit a limit, and how to track spending to avoid surprises.
Plan tiers and run quotas
Cotonity offers three self-serve plan tiers. The Free plan includes 2 active agents and 500 runs per month with Standard model access only. The Pro plan (USD 49/month) includes 20 active agents, 10,000 runs per month, Advanced model access, and priority support. The Business plan (USD 199/month) includes unlimited active agents, 100,000 runs per month, Expert model access, and a dedicated Customer Success manager. Enterprise plans are custom-priced with SLAs, SAML SSO, and audit log exports. A "run" is defined as one complete execution of an agent node within a workflow, regardless of how many messages the agent exchanges internally during that execution.
Overage handling
When you approach your monthly run quota, Cotonity sends a warning email at 80% usage and again at 95%. If you reach 100%, new agent runs are queued but not executed until the next billing cycle resets your quota — or until you upgrade. Queue depth is limited to 500 pending runs; additional requests beyond that limit return an error to the calling workflow. You can enable automatic overage billing from Settings → Billing → Overage, which charges USD 0.005 per additional run (Pro) or USD 0.003 per additional run (Business) rather than halting execution. The overage charge appears as a line item on your next invoice.
The Billing dashboard
Navigate to Settings → Billing to see your current plan, next renewal date, payment method on file, and a monthly usage summary. The usage chart breaks down runs by agent and by model tier so you can identify which agents consume the most quota. Below the chart, the Invoice History table lists all past invoices as downloadable PDFs. Each invoice includes a run breakdown, overage charges if any, and any applied coupon codes. If you are on a Free plan, the Billing page shows a "Upgrade" prompt with a feature comparison table to help you choose the right paid tier.
Cost estimation for new workflows
Before deploying a new agent or workflow, use the Run Cost Estimator available in the New Agent wizard's Test step and in Workflow Editor → Estimate. Enter an expected number of monthly runs and the model tier, and the estimator calculates the projected monthly cost including both the plan subscription and any model-tier surcharges. This helps you budget accurately before go-live. The estimator also flags if your projected usage would exceed your current plan quota, prompting you to consider upgrading in advance.
